Meet Justine Duhr

About me

I'm Justine Duhr, a Licensed Psychoanalyst in New York and New Jersey, and a Nationally Certified Psychoanalyst, in practice for 11 years. I work with individuals and couples in person on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and online across New York and New Jersey, helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and creative blocks.

Before I became an analyst, I earned a Master's in Creative Writing and spent more than a decade as a writer, editor, and writing coach. What I loved most about that work was helping people overcome the obstacles keeping them from the creative lives they wanted. That experience still shapes how I listen, with close attention to language, patterns, and the parts of a story that may be difficult to say directly.

My style is collaborative, direct, and warm. We'll look together at the patterns in your family life, relationships, and work that no longer serve you. This is deeper work than quick symptom relief. We take the time to understand how those patterns took shape, so the changes you make actually last.

I see individuals and couples at one, two, or three sessions per week. Call or email for a brief introductory conversation to see if we're a good fit.
